Volunteer licensed massage therapists will set up massage chairs to provide manual chair massage for legislators & Capitol staff.
Chair massage is a modified modality of massage therapy that is provided to seated, clothed clients. Chair massage is more accessible because it does not require clients to disrobe and uses little-to-no emollients (oils, lotions, other moisturizers). Benefits of chair massage include: mental clarity, decreased muscle tension, relieved soreness, reduced pain, and increased relaxation.
This is NOT an opportunity to express or advocate for any specific policy or legislation, but rather a chance to showcase and share the necessary service of massage therapy.
A volunteer training session will be scheduled Sunday evening before.
